A sweet summer breeze drifted through the Xiaolin temple as a young girl stepped out of the small black vehicle that had obviously brought her to the expansive building. She looked up, using one hand to avert the sun from attacking her eyes as she took in her new home. Her large, pine coloured eyes blinking as she tried to take in its size. She signed, leaning her head back and staring at the mountains behind the large temple, her bangs falling backwards.

"At least there's one thing here similar to home." She muttered under her breath as she turned around, reaching back into the car to grab two medium sized suitcases, setting them down to close the door. She gave the driver a small nod through the window, signaling that he could leave when he was ready. Pulling back, she picked up her suitcases and took a small step towards the temple, towards her new home.
The small girl walked up to the door, raising her hand to knock when right before she could, the door flew open, and a small boy, or at least she assumed it was, leapt out, wrapping his arms around her thin frame. Her pine eyes grew wide, and she stiffened herself, quickly moving her arms to pry the child off of her.

"Dragon of the ice!" the child shouted before releasing her when he noticed her arms clenching into fists.

"Now hold'n just a minute, partner." A deep, but adolescent voice said, and before the girl could understand what just happened, a rope was around the boy, and he was laying on his back with his hands and feet tied together. The girl looked up, noticing that there were now three more kids in-front of her. She stepped back, moving her arms behind her. One of them apparently picked up on what she was doing and gave a smile, pushing his blonde hair our of the way of his crystal blue eyes. "Hey now, don't do nuthin' rash. We ain't gonna hurt ya. We're all Xiaolin here." he let out a heart laugh, and the girl seemed to relax. She looked over to see another girl, much like herself, untying the short boy from earlier. There was also a taller, tanner boy, laughing hysterically at the younger one.

The newly arrived girl gave a small nod to the blonde boy, who offered her his hand to shake. "The name's Clay, miss. Clay Bailey." She gave a small smile and took it hesitantly. "And you are. . .?" Said a sudden voice, with a gentle Spanish twist to it. The young girl jumped, having not seen him move behind her, and turned to stare at him. "I'm. ." she hesitated, but Clay offered her a smile and a gentle nod. "Elyssa. Elyssa Cherlina."

"Russian, eh?" The tan boy laughed, before stopping as the other girl punched him in the arm. "Sorry about that. I'm Kimiko Tohomiko, and he's Raimundo Pendrosa." The small boy from earlier stood up, brushing dust off himself.

Kimiko laughed and rubbed his head, which Elyssa noted was bald. "And this little fella is Omi!" She laughed again as Omi protested.

"I am not little! I am merely not big!" Elyssa nodded. Clay stepped forward, giving her another smile while motioning to the temple doors. Raimundo picked up her suitcases and smiled.

"Th' work here's hard." Clay's voice broke through and Elyssa nodded once more. "But it's worth it." Clay beamed, and Elyssa acknowledged him once more with a nod, doing her best to cover up a yawn.

"Ya must be pretty tired, what with the flight here form Russia n' all." She gave another nod, and Clay laughed, walking forward towards the temple. "C'mon, I'll show you to your room." Elyssa gave a small smile, nodding once more. Raimundo followed behind, flexing his muscles as he lifted the suitcases over his head. Kimiko and Omi were nowhere to be found. Clay smiled and looked back to Elyssa, tipping his hat over his face. "So, what do you think of it so far?" Elyssa raised her head, looking up at Clay who was a lot taller.
"It. .It is nice, although it is a lot different from mother Russia." Clay laughed, nodding. "Yeah, it's really different here form Texas, too."

Elyssa smiled softly, feeling less nervous. "Well this is your room." Clay said as he stopped walking. "It ain't much, but it's home. ." He smiled as Elyssa grabbed her suitcases from Raimundo and walked into the small room. "You should get some sleep." Raimundo said, noticing how she had kept yawning. "When you wake up, Master Fung'll want to talk to you. Alright?" Elyssa nodded, thanking him. Clay lightly put a hand on her shoulder, smiling. "I know it can be scary, moving somewhere new, we've all been through it." He pointed to himself and Raimundo, and although Kimiko and Omi weren't there, Elyssa knew he meant them as well. "We're right down the hall, an' my room's straight across. So if you get scared, I'm right there if'n you get scared, I'm right there if ya need anythin'." Elyssa smiled again, nodding. "Thank you." she walked in her room and set her bags down as Clay and Raimundo walked off. She shut her door and collapsed onto the mat, which she assumed was her bed. She closed her eyes and let herself drift off into sleep.
It's finally one! Ugh this took me forever! I'm happy with it, though. (';

What I find very wonderful so far is that your writing hints allot of description but with a simplistic approach, it is really easy to understand what's going on.

Everybody seems to be in character, which is always a positive note, and a very good one also.

The title really hooks the reader though, I know you plan to develop Elyssa through this story but you are also developing her relationship with the Xiaolin, Heylin, and Clay. Getting to watch a character grow is always something I really enjoy and I wish to see more of your writing in the future hun. Especially centering around this fic.
